SpaceLink
Broadband is the latest addition to
ScopeTel impressive array of VSAT technology
solutions. SpaceLink Broadband is a low-cost,
two-way, bandwidth-on-demand, broadband VSAT
system for Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity
over satellite based on DVB-RCS and TDMA (Time
Division Multiple Access) technology. TDMA and
DVB technology allows bandwidth sharing and
pooling, and thus lowering the cost of this
service, something similar to DSL technology.

The system uses Viasat Inc. highly successful
LinkStar™ broadband satellite solution.
Operational from our Earth Station Hub and Network
Control and Operation Center (NCOC) in Cyberjaya,
this ‘star-topology’ architecture
with a central earth station hub connected to
thousands of remote sites. Each remote terminal
is capable of upload speed up to 1.15 Mbps with
download speed up 10 Mbps.
With the earth station hub connected to multi-megabit
internet gateway, SpaceLink Broadband main application
is to offer broadband Internet access via satellite.
In addition, it can also support VPN, private
corporate network and VoIP services. The SpaceLink
Broadband system is enhanced with many features
such as:
- Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation and Bandwidth
on Demand
- Configurable CIR (Committed Information
Rate) and QoS (Quality of Service) for guaranteed
Grade of Service.
- Support for various TCP/IP route and protocol
- TCP Acceleration, TCP Spoofing and Turbo
Coding increase system throughput for excellent
IP connection over satellite VLAN Tagging,
DHCP Relay and MPLS support options
- Slotted Aloha for transaction based low
bandwidth applications such as Point-of-Sales
system, Automated Teller Machines or SCADA
monitoring.
The remote satellite outdoor equipment consists
of 1.8 or 2.4 meter fix antenna, 2 or 5 Watts
BUC and LNB. The indoor satellite terminal comes
with a built in 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port
for easy interface to direct a computer or Local
Area Network switch. This service is available
on C-Band frequency to provide high reliability
under any weather conditions.
